The government of Nepal has alerted everyone about the new COVID variant ‘Omicron’ and has drawn the attention of the concerned bodies for the necessary preparations.
According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population, it is important for all agencies to be more vigilant and be prepared for the spread of Omicron into Nepal in the brink of global outbreak. As per the request of the Division, the concerned bodies are to see if everyone is following safety protocols in borders and risky areas.
Similarly, the concerned bodies have been requested to trace the contacts if one is tested COVID positive and to make sure they are kept in quarantine.
Government has also requested all to get vaccination against COVID-19.
77 district health offices and state health directorates have been requested to be more vigilant and prepare for Omicron spread in the nation.
