Although the number of 'Nairobi Fly' infections has increased in Jhapa compared to the past, the situation is not alarming. Dr. Keshav Dhakal, a senior dermatologist at Mechi Zonal Hospital, said that the infection was just a skin allergy that is seen every rainy season.
He said that as the problem was not like a viral infection, so there are no complicated problem in Jhapa so far. Dr. Dhakal said, “I have been serving as a dermatologist for 17 years and this problem appears every year. This time it is a little more than in the past. It is not a terrible disease. ”
"We call it Pederus dermatitis," he said. There is no allergy if you wash it with clean water as soon as you see it. ” Dr. Dhakal urged the people not to panic even if they have been infected by the insects and if they have more itching or burns, they should see a nearby health post or dermatologist immediately.
He said that despite the increase in the level of health awareness among the people compared to the past, the number of social media users has increased and people are more alarmed when they see a small problem.
