Children aged 12 to 17 in Humla will be vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Moderna vaccine. The first dose of the vaccine will be given to 9,621 children in that age group to prevent COVID-19 infection.

According to Prem Bahadur Singh, chief of the health service office, the vaccine will be administered in 100 vaccination centers in seven rural municipalities from December 19 to 27. He said that health workers with vaccines would be mobilized soon. Health workers who have acquired vaccination skills and health volunteers in villages will be mobilized.

The second dose of the vaccine will be administered at the respective vaccination centers from January 2 to 12. The children of wards 4, 5, and 6 of Namkha village municipality will not be vaccinated at the present, as it will be difficult for the health workers to reach them due to the snowfall. According to the office, the children of those wards will be vaccinated after the winter ends.
