 Russia reported 8,457 COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, the lowest daily tally since September last year, bringing the cumulative count to 4,474,610, the official monitoring and response center said Tuesday.

The number of COVID-19 deaths grew by 427 to 95,818, while the number of recoveries increased by 10,860 to 4,088,045.

The Russian capital of Moscow registered 1,042 new infections, raising its total to 1,014,091.

So far, more than 117.9 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted across the country.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday that he would get vaccinated with one of three domestic vaccines on Tuesday.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said earlier in the day that the country's third vaccine CoviVac will enter civil circulation on March 28.
