Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said it is the responsibility of the State to ensure people with easily accessible health services. Quality and accessible health and education should be prioritized, he emphasized.
The former President made such a remark while releasing a book, 'Cancer: What, Why and How?' penned by Prof Dr Yogendra Prasad Singh amidst a programme here Friday.
Prof Dr Singh is also the Chairman of Nepal Cancer Education Foundation.
Dr Yadav further said if cancer is diagnosed on time, it can be treated. The book is easily comprehensible, useful and worth reading, he commented, adding that massive awareness about cancer must be raised.
Similarly, writer Prof Dr Singh informed that the book was published along with the articles and opinions of the related experts which could help raise public awareness against the fatal disease, cancer.
Noted oncologist Pro Dr Rajendra Prasad Baral and Dean at TU Institute of Medicine, Dr Divya Singh Shah underscored the need for including a book chapter on cancer, kidney disease and diabetes in the school curricula so that it would help prevent, control such diseases.
