The 'Moderna' vaccine against Covid-19's distribution has begun for students. The federal government has said that the vaccine will be given to all schools from January 15 to 20. However, it has been started in the district from today. Public Health Administrator for the Health Office Bhola Yadav informed that the vaccination program started late due to inclement weather. Students studying in schools of five municipalities and three villages out of 15 localities of the district will be vaccinated.


The schools to be vaccinated today are in Balba, Matihani, Manarashishwa, Loharpatti and Jaleshwor municipalities and Ekdara, Pipra and Mahottari villages. He said that the first phase of the school-centric vaccination campaign will be completed on January 11. "Moderna" is a vaccine against Covid-19 targeting 12 to 18 year olds.


In the second phase, the students of schools in seven localities of the district will be vaccinated. In this phase, which will be operational from 2nd to 6th of March, schools of five municipalities and two villages will be included. According to the office, there will be schools in Bhangaha, Aurhi, Ramgopalpur, Gaushala and Bardibas municipalities and Samsi and Sonama municipalities. Public Health Administrator Yadav informed that 74,000 vaccines have been received in the district.


According to the office, all those over 18 years of age who are preparing to go abroad with passports have been vaccinated with the Johnson. This service is being provided from health posts, hospitals and other designated centers. According to the Health Office, it has been decided to vaccinate all the localities of the district for five days from March 10 to 14 under a special campaign.


The number of vaccinated people in the district has not exceeded 50 percent yet. Vijay Kumar Jha, director of the Madhesh Pradesh Health Directorate, said that the proper deployment of health manpower to make the vaccination effective and direct initiatives of political parties, social organizations and localities to raise awareness about vaccination would be fruitful.
