112 new cases of coronavirus reported on Thursday

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Thursday reported 112 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 273,872.

Of the newly infected, 52 are females and 60 are males.

Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have reported 32 new cases of coronavirus infection — 18 in Kathmandu, 12 in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. Of the newly infected in the valley, 15 are females and 17 others are males.

As many as 84 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 270,223 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Thursday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.

Likewise, the death toll from COVID-19 has reached 2,767 with 83 added death report from the disease in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 882 active cases in Nepal.

Meanwhile, 2,153,636 people have undergone polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Likewise, 882 people have been staying in isolation while 63 others in quarantine, the MoHP reported.

Earlier on Wednesday, the ministry had reported 94 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 273,760.

More than 112.60 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,602,241 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:12 pm on February 25.
