120 new cases of coronavirus reported on Thursday

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Thursday reported 120 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 276,509.

Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 65 new cases of coronavirus infection — 41 in Kathmandu, five in Lalitpur and 19 in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. A total of 41 male and 24 females have been reported to be detected with the coronavirus infection in the valley.

As many as 85 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 272,272 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Thursday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.5 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.

The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has remained 3,020 with no death reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,217 active cases in Nepal.

Earlier, the MoHP on Wednesday had reported 145 new cases of coronavirus that had taken nationwide tally to 276,389.

More than 124.87 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,871,426 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:16 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
