176 new cases of coronavirus reported on Sunday

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Sunday reported 176 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 277,944.

As many as 117 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 273,240 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Sunday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.3 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.

The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,032 with zero death from COVID-19 reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,672 active cases in Nepal.

Earlier, the MoHP on Saturday had reported 128 new cases of coronavirus that had taken nationwide tally to 277,768.

More than 130.8 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,985,785 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:05 pm on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
