Sixteen ordinances were presented at the National Assembly meeting on Thursday.
On the first day of the eighth session of NA, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Lilanath Shrestha, presented the ordinance on the first amendment of the Constitutional Council (Function, Responsibility, Rights and Work Procedure), 2077, and ordinance relating to oath taking, 2078.
They were presented on behalf of the Prime Minister. Similarly, the Minister presented the ordinances on the third amendment of Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation, 2077; ordinance on amending some Acts on Criminal Office and Procedure, 2078; and ordinance on amending some Acts against Sexual Violence, 2078.
Moreover, on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Poudel, Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Basant Kumar Nembang, tabled the ordinances relating to the first amendment on Nepal Citizenship, 2078; on Nepal Police and Province Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination), 2078; on Social Security, 2078; Acid and Chemical Substance Regulation, 2078; Economic Ordinance, 2078; Appropriation Ordinance, 2078: and State Debt Recovery Ordinance, 2078.
Likewise, Minister Nembang presented Railway Ordinance, 2078; while Minister for Health and Population Krishna Gopal Shrestha presented Safety of Health Workers and Health Institutions (first amendment), 2078; COVID-19 Crisis Management Ordinance, 2078 and Drug (third amendment), 2078.
Earlier, NA Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina read out the letter from the President on the call of the NA session. He also informed the NA on President’s letter on Cabinet reshuffle and additional portfolios.
The NA will hold the next meeting on July 4.
