Seventeen students who were arrested by police on Friday afternoon for demonstrating over the School Education Bill have been freed. They were demonstrating in front of Singha Durbar, the central administrative complex of the country.
The students belonging to a student union close to the Revolutionary Nepal Communist Party (Revolutionary-NCP) led by Mohan Baidya were freed late evening, said Spokesperson at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Kumud Dhungel.
The arrestees who also included union coordinator Milan Rai were taken to Singha Durbar Police Circle.
