A Nepali national was injured after India's security personnel reportedly shot him near the Indian border in Kanchanpur district on Monday evening.
The injured has been identified as Narendra Sunar, 26, of Dodhara Chandani area in Mahakali Municipality-1 in the district.
Sunar was shot in his leg while he was walking around a forest located on the Indian side of border according to Sudurpaschim Province Police.
According to Police, Sunar may have been shot by either Indian Seema Shastra Bal or a forest security personnel.
The injured youth has been undergoing treatment at Mahakali Hospital, said police.
Police have yet to ascertain the cause of the firing. Meanwhile, investigation into the incident is underway, police informed.
