268 health workers have been infected in three weeks

Corona infections have been on the rise across the country in recent times, with even health workers at the forefront of the epidemic becoming infected.

As the risk of the third wave of coronavirus omicron increases, 268 health workers, including doctors and staff nurses, have been infected in Gandaki over a three-week period. According to the state health directorate Pokhara, the same number of health workers have been infected in districts other than Manang in Gandaki district from January 3 to January 25.

According to Nawaraj Sharma, coordinator of the provincial health emergency operations center under the directorate, most of the health workers have been infected with a corona in the capital city of Pokhara. According to him, the highest number of 138 health workers is infected in Kaski.

He said, "Health workers are also becoming more and more infected in the last Corona wave. The health workers of Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, Infectious and Communicable Diseases Hospital, and Beni Hospital in Myagdi, who are being treated for corona patients, have become more infected." It is said that there is no situation of stopping the service even though there are some difficulties in running the health treatment service after the health workers became infected.

Similarly, 42 health workers have been confirmed in Tanahun, 20 in Lamjung, 17 in Nawalparasi East, 12 in Syangja, 11 in Baglung, 10 in Parbat, nine in Myagdi, six in Gorkha, and three in Mustang. In the trans-Himalayan district of Manang, no health workers have been infected during this period. The Directorate said that all the infected health workers were in home isolation and their condition was normal.
