A total of 277 applications have been filed for 27 positions of the judge in the High Court. For the appointments, the Judicial Council announced vacancies for the court by making standards.
The applications were from district judges, legal practitioners, employees in judicial groups and government advocate groups and other categories.
The applications (76 by district judges, 174 by legal practitioners and 46 from other categories) included 55 men and 19 women. Shortlisting will take place soon, said the Council's spokesperson Man Bahadur Karki.
