At least 3,565 children below five years have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 10 of the infected children have succumbed to the disease as of Sunday, April 19.

The health ministry has asserted that the children or infants are no less prone to viral infection and may get infected like any other adults.

The MoHP has urged all the citizens to adopt health protocols and maintain safety measures for the children as well. The parents and guardians have been urged to make their children wear mask compulsorily and frequently wash their hands with soap and water. Further, the ministry has appealed to all to avoid the gatherings or crowds and not to allow the children to go to the crowds.

The nationwide daily cases of coronavirus infection crossed 1,000 on Sunday. The Ministry of Health and Population had reported 1,096 new cases of coronavirus infection in the country.
