The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Saturday reported 337 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 279,725.
As many as 151 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 273,886 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Saturday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 97.9 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,039 with the report of one more death from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 2,800 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Friday had reported 228 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the nationwide tally to 279,388.
More than 133.99 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 3,040,913 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:01 pm, on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
