403 coronavirus cases on Thursday: MoHP

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday reported 403 new cases of coronavirus in the country. With the addition of the new cases, the number has risen to 266,546.

Of the newly infected, 161 are reported to be females and 242 males.

In the past 24 hours, 405 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 260,177 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Thursday.

Currently, the country has 4,426 active cases with 97.6 per cent recovery rate.

The ministry also reported the death of six persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 1,943.

A total of 2,002,041 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Thursday.

Likewise, a total of 4,426 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 231 others in the quarantine facility.

More than 92.20 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 1,979,056​ have died, a Reuters tally showed.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
