488 coronavirus cases on Monday: MoHP

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday reported 488 new cases of coronavirus in the country. With the addition of the new cases, the number has risen to 265,268.

Of the infected, 192 are reported to be females and 296 males.

In the past 24 hours, 527 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 258,968 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Monday.

Currently, the country has 4,373 active cases with 97.6 per cent recovery rate.

The ministry also reported the death of 10 persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 1,927.

A total of 1,987,555 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Monday.

Likewise, a total of 4,373 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 237 others in the quarantine facility.

More than 90.07 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 1,934,058​ have died, a Reuters tally showed.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
