5.8 magnitude earthquake jolts Nepal

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred in western Nepal on Wednesday morning. Three people have been injured and some houses have been damaged by the earthquake. Small aftershocks are being felt in the epicenter region.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at 5.42 this morning was nearby Bhulbhule of Lamjung.

Seismic expert Dr Lokbijaya Adhikari said that the earthquake was measured 5.8 on the Richter scale. The jolt was also experienced in different parts of Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun, Kaski, Manang, Chitwan, Dhading and Kathmandu Valley.

More details of loss caused by the quake have yet to be reported.
