Around 50,000 tourists have visited the street food festival in Bandipur, Tanahu. 50,000 tourists have reached Bandipur for the three-day festival on the occasion of New Year.
The festival, which started on April 13, ended on Friday. Although 50,000 tourists have visited Bandipur to observe the festival, the number of tourists staying was low, said Kisan Pradhan, chairman of the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee.
"The number of visitors in the afternoon was very high. During the three-day period, Bandipur was crowded with tourists. However, the number of people staying was low," said Pradhan. According to him, the number of tourists who stayed was 2,000 daily.
The festival was jointly organized by Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, Regional Hotel Entrepreneurs Association Bandipur and Tanahu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bandipur. Entrepreneurs are confident that tourist arrivals will increase with the new year even though there is no encouraging arrival of tourists in Bandipur now. The street food festival featured local Chudka, Kaura, Doko, Lakhe dances.
There are 77 hotels in operation in Bandipur. Hotels including Green Park, Hotel Durbar Himalaya Phewa, Gamghar, Boldin, Bandipur Mountain Resort, Bandipur Palace and Magar Vijel are among them,
From Bandipur you can see Annapurna, Machhapuchche, Dhaulagiri and other mountain ranges. Houses built in Bhaktapur style, Tundikhel, Thanimai, Tindhara, Raniwan, Ramkot, Sunkhari, Khaddevi temple, Vindhyavasini temple, Mahalakshmi temple, information center and other places have become the center of attraction for tourists. After traveling 18 kilometers from the district headquarters Damauli to Dumre and reaching an eight-kilometer uphill journey, one reaches Bandipur.
