63 animals dead in National Park

So far in the current fiscal year, 63 wild animals have died in Chitwan National Park. Most of them are rhinos and chitals. According to the park, 10 males, seven females and two unidentified rhinos were found dead. Five rhinos have died of old age, five have fallen into swamps, two have drowned, four have died fighting and one rhino has died due to tiger attack. The rhino found in Ghangar area of ​​Madi on July 27 and in Dhowa area on September 27 is estimated to have died due to poaching. He has died of old age while raising government elephants.

A 75-year-old female elephant has died at Khoria. The same number of spotted deers have died. According to the park's information officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, 15 females and four males died. Most of them were reported to have died from rabid dog bites. Similarly, a male and a female tiger have died. He informed that one died while undergoing treatment and another died while it was ill.

Similarly, one male and one female bear have died of natural causes. According to the park, six males and four females died during this period. According to Tiwari, one male and one female rhinoceros, one male and one female Laguna, two females and one male rooster, one female crocodile and three other different animals died. The crocodile was hit by a car and died.

Chief Conservation Officer of the park Haribhadra Acharya informed that necessary precautions have been taken to reduce the number of wild animals dying due to natural causes. Most of the wildlife in the park has died due to natural causes rather than poaching. The Division Forest Office keeps a record of the number of wild animals killed by vehicles in the national forest and areas outside the park.
