72 more Nepalis brought home from Afghanistan

Seventy-two more Nepalis have arrived in Kathmandu from the capital city of Afghanistan today.
They arrived in their homeland on the flight of Qatar Airways via London and Doha, the capital city of Qatar.
Meanwhile, the returnees from Kabul have been placed at a holding centre for the RT-PCR test for COVID-19 infection. They will be sent to their homes after going through the formalities.
The government has been evacuating Nepalis from  Afghanistan since Taliban insurgents took over the Afghan capital, Kabul.
As many as 118 Nepalis were repatriated home on a chartered flight from Kabul to Nepal via Kuwait on Tuesday morning and while 87 others were brought home on chartered flights of Jazeera Airways,  according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
The Government of Nepal has directed the authorities concerned to make coordinated efforts to safely rescue the Nepalis from Afghanistan at the earliest.
Earlier, the meeting of the Council of Ministers had, on Monday, had taken the decision to this effect. A task force was also formed last Saturday in convenorship of the joint-secretary of the MoFA to take stock of the Nepalis in Afghanistan and to rescue them in the wake of the turn of the events there.
The Department of Consular Services under the MoFA has provisioned registration of details about the Nepalis in Afghanistan on the website of the department.
