813 journalists test positive for coronavirus, FNJ says

A total of 813 journalists and media persons have tested positive for coronavirus in the country.

According to Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), so far 16 journalists succumbed to the virus.

The FNJ stated that three journalists are receiving treatment in ICU and three others are in ventilator.

Meanwhile, the FNJ has said that an act of issuing threat by different organisations to Sunsari correspondent of Annapurna Post Ratna Prasad Acharya was deplorable.

Different organizations had issued statements by the use of offensive terminologies against Acharya over a news story on 182 Bigha land plot of Sardu Watershed area.

The FNJ has also asked the stakeholders to ensure professional security of the journalists and immediately bring to book to those individuals involved in threatening the media person.
