The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Monday reported 125 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 273,556.
Of the newly infected, 44 are females and 81 are males.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have reported 52 new cases of coronavirus infection — 42 in Kathmandu, four in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. Of the newly infected in the valley, 20 are females and 32 others are males.
As many as 90 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 269,966 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Monday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
Likewise, the death toll from COVID-19 has remained 2,061 with no deaths reported from the disease in the past 48 hours. Presently, there are 1,529 active cases in Nepal.
Meanwhile, 2,143,315 people have undergone polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as of Saturday.
Likewise, 1,529 people have been staying in isolation while 66 others in quarantine, the MoHP reported.
More than 111.48 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,572,095 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:09 pm on February 22.
