A household has been displaced due to land erosion caused by the Arun River at Bhotekhola Rural Municipality in Sandkhuwasabha district.
Similarly, 17 houses and a child centre at Bhotekhola Rural Municipality-5 are at high risk of landslides. The flooded river eroded the land, said chairperson of the rural municipality, Wangchhedar Bhote, adding that incessant rains triggered the river flood.
The houses near the riverbank are at high risk. The displaced family has been shifted to a safer place, added Bhote.
Settlements from Bhotekhola Rural Municipality-4, Gol bazaar to Kapase village of Bhotekhola-5 are at the high risk of erosion being caused by the flooded Arun River.
Chair Bhote urged all to remain alert as it was still raining and the river raging.
