In Rukum (East), the consumption and sale of alcohol will be banned from May 7 here. An all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office today decided to completely ban the consumption and sale of intoxicants in the district from the 7th of this month until the results are declared.
The meeting also requested not to use mobile phones in the designated areas in all the polling stations on the day of polling and also to keep the supply of essential goods and services at ease. It has been decided to conduct the election activities in compliance with the public health standards as there is still a risk of corona infection and provision of essential services from health, drinking water, telephone, electricity and hospital. The all-party meeting has also decided not to operate public vehicles except the vehicles that have been given permission on the day of polling on May 13 from 6 am until the polling is completed.
The all-party meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Khadka was attended by heads and representatives of security agencies and various political parties in the district, heads of transport, hotel business associations, chambers of commerce and industry, heads and representatives of various government offices and journalists.
