Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha have said if the present alliance government does not become successful, the achievements made so far would be jeopardized, thereby pushing the country to misfortune.
DPM Shrestha said it while addressing a program organized here to hand over a house built for the family of the first martyr in the district, Indra Koirala. He sought cooperation from all sides to make the government successful.
The poor and Dalit communities were still facing discriminatory behavior, so additional contributions are needed for social change, according to him. Home Minister Shrestha reminded that the government was now in a phase to implement the achievements made through the people's movement.
He argued that the achievement of the people's movement must not be ignored also for ensuring transitional justice, and the end of all sorts of discrimination and oppression. The DPM also said the government was working actively to end corruption and discrimination and protect nationality.
The remaining tasks of the peace process would be completed and socio-economic transformation intensified by the government, he said, adding only Maoist Centre would however be not able to address every problem because it was the alliance government.
The DPM also inaugurated the first conference of Nepal Dalit Liberation Front Madhes Province at Lalbandi.
