Nepal’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Lokdarshan Regmi has presented a letter of credence to the UK Queen.
Ambassador Regmi presented the letter of credence to Queen Elizabeth II amidst a special ceremony held at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, informed the London-based Nepali Embassy.
After virtually presenting the letter on the occasion, Ambassador Regmi also conveyed the message of the President and Prime Minister of Nepal.
In the message, the President and the Prime Minister wished for the good health of the Queen as well as the progress of the UK and prosperity of its people, the embassy shared.
Receiving the letter of credence, the Queen wished for the successful tenure of Ambassador Regmi. Also, she noted that the UK and Nepal have enjoyed a special relations and the UK has placed priority to assist Nepal in its efforts for development.
Recalling her two historical Nepal visits, the Queen also enquired about Nepal’s situation in the wake of COVID-19 and vaccination, Ambassador Regmi shared.
On the occasion, Ambassador Regmi extended his thanks to the UK for its support to Nepal in the socio-economic development sector since long as well as in the ongoing fight against coronavirus pandemic.
Regmi has been recently appointed as the 21st Ambassador of Nepal to the UK.
