A report on the 'Bill designed to amend some acts related to Prevention of Money Laundering and Promotion of Business Environment' has been tabled in the Parliament.
Chairperson of Law, Justice and Human Rights Commission, Bimala Subedi, presented the report in today's HoR meeting prepared by the Committee after holding clause-wise discussion.
The bill was sent to the Committee after a proposal for sending it for clause-wise discussion was passed in the meeting held on April 28. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung had presented the proposal in the meeting held on May 22.
The Committee has prepared the report by holding discussion with stakeholders about the bill after forming 11-member sub-committee.
The report of the sub-committee was passed on the meeting held on October 11 after holding discussion in the Committee.
Chairperson Subedi expressed the belief that there would be reforms in laws in prevention of money laundering and promotion of business environment and the laws of Nepal would be of international standard and positive message would be disseminated in national and international sector after the passage of the bill. There would be amendment to 19 existing laws.
The bill would help to stop capital flight and promote fiscal governance, she shared.
Similarly, today's HoR meeting has sent the School Education Bill, 2080, to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.
On the occasion, the proposal presented by Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Ashok Kumar Rai, to send the bill to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion was approved by a majority.
The HoR will meet next at 2:00 pm on Friday.
