Nepali singer Dibesh Pokharel, who successfully made his mark on the American Idol television reality show, has been appointed as the world goodwill ambassador for Nepal's tourism. Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha have expressed the belief that Pokharel, who has made an important contribution to make Nepal known to the world through his talent, will contribute more to the promotion of the natural and cultural heritage of Nepal, which is full of natural beauty, biological and cultural diversity.
Pokharel, who was born in Ravi Bhawan in Kathmandu and went to America for higher education, became popular after his strong presence on the stage of "American Idol". New talents like Arthur Gunn, have succeeded in giving Nepal a new identity in the world. Minister Shrestha also wished him more success in his musical journey.
He is on a musical tour in Nepal and has been giving his musical performances in different parts of the country.
