The Central Committee of the Pravasi Nepali Sangh (Association of Nepali Diaspora), in charge in India, submitted a 12-point memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal yesterday.
On behalf of the Committee, President of the Association Loknath Bhandari and Hariprasad Ghimire, CPN (UML) in charge of the Nepali diaspora in India submitted the memorandum to Prime Minister Dahal with various demands.
In the memo, the Association has demanded that Nepali citizens abroad should be allowed to vote from their country of destination in the elections held in their motherland, documentation of citizens traveling across the open border between Nepal and India, immediately stopping the misconduct meted out to Nepali migrants returning home in the name of checks by the border security personnel of both Nepal and India and to arrange that the pension received from India can be withdrawn in Nepal.
The memo also calls for forming a migrant commission or any such mechanism to address the citizens' concerns outside the country.
