Bagmati province to mark Republic Day for three days

The Bagmati province government has decided to mark Republic Day, 2080 for three days by organizing various programs.

At a press conference held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law on Friday, Minister Ganga Narayan Shrestha unveiled a schedule of several programs to be held on May 28-30 on the occasion.

The province government is all set to host a grand blood donation program on May 28. Among other programs are morning rallies on May 29 from Buddhachowk, Hetauda to the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers and an address to the special ceremony of republic day by province chief, Minister Shrestha informed.

Likewise, the light illumination program has been set for May 29 evening at all ministries' offices in the province, public and community organizations, educational institutions, and households of the general public.

As per the schedule unveiled, a sapling plantation program will be held on May 30. Among other programs on the day include cleaning of the offices of provincial ministries and public places, national flag hoisting and banner screening, appeal to all stakeholders, including media to mark the republic day effectively, and distribution of awards to media persons active in the province, Minister Shrestha informed.

He shared that an open article writing competition will be hosted with the title 'Opportunities and Challenges of Republic of 15 Years'. The representatives of political parties and civil society will take part in the competition, he informed. ---
