At a press conference organized by the Election Commission on Monday, spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that the printing of 80 percent of ballot papers has been completed and the printing of the remaining ballot papers is continuing.
"The Election Commission has completed the process of sending most election materials to all 77 districts. Preparations have been made to start transporting ballot papers from April 26," said spokesperson Poudel.
According to him, 15.48 million ballot papers have been printed for 68 districts so far. The Election Commission has estimated that 19.4 million more ballot papers will be required. The commission has also warned all parties concerned to fully abide by the election code of conduct.
The Election Commission has so far stated that 68 organizations have obtained permission to observe the election. Poudel, said that about 20,000 observers from those organizations would be deployed at the polling stations with the identity cards of the commission.
The Election Commission has also appointed Joint Secretary of the Commission Tulasi Bahadur Shrestha and Associate Advocate Guru Wagle as the Election Information and Communication Officers.
