The Bhaktapur Municipality has adjusted the entry fee for foreign visitors as per a rise in the value of the US dollar.
The local government charges certain fees to people from outside the country to visit the world heritage site Bhaktapur Durbar Square area and other touristic sites in the locality. The increment has already come into effect from January 1, 2023.
According to Municipality’s tourism information center chief Gautam Lasiwa, the entry fee was adjusted bearing in mind the rising value of the US dollar.
The entry fee of Rs 500 for each visitor from the SAARC country remains as it is while the fee for people from other nations has been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,800 each.
Now the price of the US dollar is around Rs 130 per dollar. Those wishing to pay in the dollar have to pay US dollar 15 as previously, but those wishing to pay in the rupee are to be charged Rs 1,800 each, he added.
