The government has decided to recommend changes of governors in Lumbini and Gandaki provinces. A cabinet meeting today recommended Prithvi Man Gurung and Amik Sherchan as governors for Gandaki and Lumbini provinces respectively.

With the cabinet recommendation, Gandaki province chief Sita Kumari Poudel and Lumbini province chief Sharmanath Prasad Saha have been relieved of their existing position.

Earlier, Sherchan was the province chief of Gandaki. The erstwhile government had relieved him of the post. The ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) has recommended Sherchan, also the former deputy prime minister, to the province chief this time. Likewise, Gurung is former President of Nepali Congress, Chitwan.

Likewise, the cabinet meeting appointed Biswonath Poudel as the Vice-chairperson of National Planning Commission and Ramkumar Phuyal and Dil Bahadur Limbu as the members of NPC, shared spokesperson of the government Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

The Council of Ministers decided to designate Chief of General Staff Prabhuram Sharna as the acting Chief of Army Staff and recommend it to the President. Incumbent COAS Purna Chandra Thapa is retiring this month due to the age limit.

Today's cabinet also decided to endorse the Unidentified Dead Body Management Directive, 2078, said Karki.
