Chief of Purchaudi Multiple Campus, Baitadi, Rajendra Singh Negi has been accused of rape. A woman from Kailali district has filed a case against Negi at the Area Police Office, Patan, accusing him of raping her, said Inspector Lok Raj Joshi.
On July 4, Negi reached the apartment of the woman and allegedly raped her under the pretext of asking for water to drink, according to the charge sheet. The woman, who works as a daily wager, is living in Purchaudi in the Baitadi district.
The woman has got a medical check-up and the report is yet to come by, said Joshi, adding that efforts were underway to arrest accused Negi acting on the filing of the case. Following the charge sheet, Negi has resigned as the campus chief.
