Surendra Bahadur Basnet, founder and executive chairman of Buddha Air, passed away on Sunday.
Born in Salma, Dingla, Bhojpur, Basnet studied MALLLB from Banaras Hindu University and held various high positions in the government of Nepal.
He was a judge of the Supreme Court, the first chief commissioner of the Election Commission, the Minister of Law and Justice, Education, Finance, Industry, Commerce and Supply in various periods, and the first chairman of the Nepal Press Council.
