Chief Minister of Province No 2, Lal Bahadur Raut has appealed to the UN Agency for its support in the prevention and control of COVID-19 as well as to treat the infected ones in the Province.

At a discussion held at CM’s official residence at Janakpur today, CM Raut called for the UN Agency’s support for the arrangement of ventilators, oxygen gas supplies, medicines, human resources, and vaccines against COVID-19.

CM Raut grieved that State No 2 had not received much of the UN Agency’s assistance to Nepal during a health crisis like this and urged the UN Agency’s representatives in the State for their positive intervention towards this end.

The CM also extended his gratitude towards the UN for its support in Nepal’s efforts to contain the pandemic and expressed his expectation of the UN Agency’s continuous support in the coming days.

Participating in the discussion representing the Provincial government and its agencies were Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishore Shah, Chief Attorney Dipendra Jha, and Vice-chair of the Province Policy and Programme Commission Dr Bhogendra Jha.

Similarly, United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS)’s Jitendra Jung Karki, WHO’s Dr Surendra Shukla, IMO’s Pankaj Lal Singh, UNICEF’s Ashok Kumar Jha, and UNFPA’s Narendra Mishra participated in the programme.
