The Ambassador of China to Nepal, Chen Song, and President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) Rajesh Kumar Agrawal held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the ideas for promoting bilateral investment and business relations between Nepal and China.
During the meeting, CNI President Agrawal said that Nepal-China cooperation was vital in the areas of infrastructure development adding that China is Nepal's one of the key development partner.
Likewise, Agrawal urged the Chinese Ambassador to accord top priority for investment and cooperation in the areas of technology transfer, skill development and tourism sector.
The CNI President urged the Chinese Ambassador also to cooperate with the Nepali business community to export Nepali goods in the Chinese market through e-commerce.
Furthermore, Chinese Ambassador Song was urged to do something visible in Nepal with the cooperation of CNI and China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
On the occasion, Ambassador Song suggested that Nepal could develop through the use of national resources including the hydropower generation adding that a long term development strategy was needed.
He was of the view that Nepal's imports could be substituted through the increase usage of power.
During the meeting, matters related to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's upcoming China visit and others were also discussed.
