A complaint has been lodged against a candidate for Vice President from Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Ram Sahaya Yadav.
Claiming that Yadav's candidacy was against the Constitution and law, a group of people including CPN-UML parliamentarian Mahesh Bartaula on Saturday registered the complaint against Yadav at the Office of the Election Officer at New Baneswor.
"Clause 16(5) of the President and Vice-President Election Act, 2074 has stipulated a provision that individual belonging to different gender or community than that of the President-elect person should file nomination for vice-president", the complaint stated.
Parliamentarian Bartaula said a woman candidate should be the vice-president of the country when President was elected by men. ---
