Complaints related to financial irregularities have increased in Dang. According to the report made public by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, there were 94 complaints in the district in the last fiscal year. This increased to 122 complaints in the current fiscal year.
Complaints related to financial irregularities are on the rise, said Vijay Raj Poudel, head of the Butwal Liaison Office, Nepalgunj. He said that 25 complaints were dismissed last year and 71 complaints in the current fiscal year.
"One hundred and twenty complaints remain to be disposed of," Poudel said. There were 87 complaints in 10 local levels of Dang in two years. There were 41 complaints in the last fiscal year and 46 in the current fiscal year. He said that 39 complaints were dismissed in both years.
The highest number of complaints was received in Tulsipur. There were eight complaints in the current fiscal year and 10 in the last fiscal year. In both cases, six complaints have been dismissed. According to the authority, 21 complaints were lodged in Ghorahi sub-metropolitan municipality, seven in Lamahi municipality, 15 in Rajpur municipality, seven in Shantinagar municipality, 12 in Dangisharan municipality, five in Gadhwa municipality, one in Rapti municipality, and one in Bangalachuli municipality.
No complaint has been lodged in Babai municipality. Authority states that the complaints are mostly about the poor quality of development work, working against the standards, report of the monitoring committee not being objective and realistic, preparing wrong estimates, not following the rules and regulations, not doing it, purchasing more materials than necessary.
