The district court, Kathmandu has ordered to keep 16 people, including former ministers Balkrishna Khand and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, in custody for preliminary investigation in the case of fake refugees.
The bench of Judge Prem Prasad Neupane has ordered that two people, including Lakshmi Maharjan, be released on bail. Marhajan was ordered to be released on bail of Rs 5 lakh and Tank Kumar Gurung on Rs 10 lakh.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Rayamajhi, Former Home Minister Khand, Security Adviser to the then Home Minister Indrajit Rai, Secretary Teknarayan Pandey,Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Bhutanese rights leader Teknath Rizal, Sagar Rai, Sandesh Sharma, Top Bahadur's son Sandeep Rayamajhi, Private Secretary of Khand Narendra KC, Govind Chaudhary, Ram Sharan KC, former assembly member Angtawa Sherpa, Chairman of Haj Committee Shamsher Mia and Haribhakta Maharjan were also detained.
