A total of 106 cows and baby calves has been gifted to Ministry of Agriculture of Nepal by Heifer Korea. The first lot of 42 cows, 36 female, and 6 bulls, has arrived in Nepal by 350 airbus and Met Group has taken the responsibility to take the cows safely to their final destination. The cows are said to be a very good breed which lactates around 9000 liters and gives 30 liters of milk per day.
Sarin KC, the Managing Director of Met Group, says, "It is our responsibility to take the responsibility on behalf of the Nepal Government to take the bull to their final destination and hand it over to the farmers." "With the first batch already in Nepal, the calves are already in the quarantine facility," he added.
As per KC, there are a few batches of cows coming in. 36 females, 6 bulls and 21 female calves have arrived as of now. 21 are set to arrive on Dec 25 and 22 will arrive on the last shipment on Dec 28.
The same group was responsible for supplying 7 bulls earlier this December.
