A curfew order has been imposed in Malangawa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi district.
Chief District Officer of Sarlahi Indradev Yadav said that the curfew has been ordered from 5:00 this evening to 8:00 am tomorrow.
The curfew was issued to contain the tensed situation created after two sides clashed while immersing the idol of Lord Krishna constructed on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmastami on Friday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sarlahi Naresh Raj Subedi said that the police lobbed 16 shells of tear gas and fired a blank shot after the conflicting sides hurled stones at each other and clashed over the issue.
Likewise, some people and police personnel had sustained injuries in the incident while immersing the idol of Lord Krishna.
