Dashain celebration starts from tomorrow

Badadashain starts from tomorrow. In Dashain, Nava Durga is worshiped as a form of power. The Shakti Peeths are also getting ready for puja after a long ban.

Administrative preparations have been started for the special puja to be held at the famous Kalika Bhagwati temple for ten days. Thousands of devotees come here on Navratri to pay homage to Bhagwati.

Devotees start to visit the temple from the day of Ghatsthapana. The temple's guthi management committee has stated that all measures will be taken for the arrangement for quick, and safe worship.

Chairman of the committee, Raju Khadka said that public health standards will be implemented in the temple premises considering the risk of COVID-19 infection.

"We have made arrangements of measuring the temperature at the entrance if anyone looks suspicious," he said. "A place has been allotted for washing hands with soap and water before going to the temple.

Stating that the infection could spread due to overcrowding in the temple, the local administration has also asked to make the health safety standards mandatory.

Chairman Khadka said that adequate arrangements have been made for security, sanitation, drinking water, toilets, etc. Five hundred-year-old Kalika Bhagwati is celebrated in Badadashain and Chaitrashtami. Mahakali, Mahalaxmi, and Mahasaraswati are worshiped on the Navratra of Dashain.

Chickens, goats, and calves are sacrificed in the temple. Devotees from all over the world come here in the belief that their aspirations will be fulfilled by visiting Kalika. The temple is open for worship from 3 o'clock in the morning.
