As many as 59 persons have lost their lives in floods, landslides and inundation triggered by torrential rains in various parts of the country since the beginning of the monsoon this year.
The deceased persons include 31 males, 17 females and 11 children, according to the Nepal Police headquarters.
Two persons have died in the past 24 hours, including one each in Khotang and Sindhuli. As many as 73 persons have been injured while 27 others have gone missing.
A total of 1,268 people have been rescued while 583 houses, 107 cowsheds, three schools and 13 government offices have been damaged in the disasters. Likewise, in the 600 incidents of disaster during the period, 5,495 members of 1,176 households have been displaced, informed Spokesperson for Nepal Police, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Basant Bahadur Kunwar.
