The government attorney office is set to appeal against the judgment of the Dhanusha District Court for giving a clean chit to the acid seller in connection to the Aarati Shah acid attack case in Janakpur.

Aarati Shah and her daughter were attacked with acid by Aarati’s husband Sanjeev while visiting the latter’s father-in-law’s house inJanakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-7 on November 14 last year. The incident had taken place during the festival- Dipawali.

Although the District Court, Dhanusha on Monday had found Sanjiv Sah of Rupaitha of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City guilty in the incident, Nagendra Shah, the owner of the acid shop, was acquitted in spite of selling the chemical without a license.

Chief District Attorney Sitaram Aryal said that they would file an appeal against the verdict of the District Court, Dhanusa regarding the acid seller as soon as the final verdict on the case is received.

Meanwhile, police have taken Aarati under their control and have held her after she went to the District Court in Dhanusha to express her disagreement and qualm over the Court’s verdict to allow the acid seller go free.
