Drinking water supply to 325 houses in Myalpokhari

Jhamakumari Oli, 78, of Myalpokhari, Madane rural municipality-4 of Gulmi, never thought that water would be supplied to her house. She used to go to Kalimati, Dhada, Gairapadhera and other places to get a jug of water. It used to take about an hour to fetch water, but from the last one month, drinking water has come to his house. Her daily life has become very comfortable after the water started coming to her house. She remembers when sometimes the jug fell on the road and burst while returning and she was only left with remorse, her family would fight and curse because of that. She said that now that the water has come in the house, the quarrels between the family and the neighbors have become less.

 "It didn't feel like water was ever coming to the house. It still feels like a dream," said Jhamakumari.

Local Dimple Sen also looks happy since the water came in the house. Even in Padhenra, the locals used to quarrel when there was not enough water, but nowadays, all these are just memories for Sen. A drinking water tap has been connected to his house for the past one month. "Water comes to the house for two hours in the morning and an hour and a half in the evening," said Dimple. Since the water came in the house, the obligation to go to the well and padhenro has been removed.

 Similarly, it has become very easy to clean, plant vegetables and work after getting water. "During the election, the candidates had promised to bring water. But I didn't believe it. He said, "Confidence in the local government and people's representatives has increased with the arrival of water in the house."

We have fulfilled our election promise, said the Ward Chairman,  Bhim Prasad Bhattarai. .

Lifting technology has been used to supply water to Myalpokhari under the concept of 'One House, One Stream'. Lower Lupsi drinking water project has been implemented with the investment of federal, state and village. Similarly, drinking water has been supplied to a total of 325 houses. Other drinking water schemes are also in operation in Myalpokhari. It is estimated that more than Rs 4 crores will be spent for this. "The public believed on us and voted, so we kept our promise to supply water," said Bhattarai.
