Paiyun rural municipality of Dakshin Parbat is going to build a dumping site for Rs 10 crore. A dumping site has been started to manage the garbage in the market area of the rural municipality. As the marketing is increasing in different areas of the municipality, while waste management is becoming a challenge, the infrastructure will be built on the land provided by residents for free in Ward No. 5.
Chief Administrative Officer, Keshav Lamichhane informed that the construction of a management project at a cost of around Rs 10 crores. He said that the land was provided by the residents of Rural Municipality-5 for this purpose. Chairman of Paiyun Rural Municipality, Toran Mall Thakuri said that the rural municipality has acquired 19 ropani lands in Kholakhark located in Bhurtelthok of ward No. 5. He said that the 'Garbage Mail Project' is the pride of the rural municipality and the work is progressing to convert the garbage into money.
After this project comes into operation, it is going to be organized by classifying the biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Chairman Thakuri said that after the implementation of this project, there will be employment for the residents. The rural municipality has also held a public hearing program on rural waste management. Marketing is increasing in Hatemalochok, Huwarbazar, Bhorlebazar, Triveni, Sarau, and other areas under the rural municipality.
