The Dumre-Bandipur road section that was disrupted by a landslide for four days has been opened partially today.

The Division Road Office and District Administration Office, Tanahu coordinated efforts to repair the road section and cleared the landslide debris following which traffic movement has resumed in this road section.

The road leading to Bandipur which is seven kilometers away from Dumre lying along the Prithvi Highway was obstructed for four days. Many rural roads in Tanahun district have been obstructed due to monsoon-induced disasters.

Not only that, telephone services, internet, and electricity facilities have been damaged by the landslides in many localities of Bandipur, shared Karuna Gurung, a local representative. A total of 172 households in various wards of the Bandipur Rural Municipality are at risk of flood and landslide.

Gurung said the resumption of traffic in the disrupted Dumre-Bandipur road has brought respite to them to some extent.

Meanwhile, the public offices that were long shut down or rendering essential services only during the prohibitory order in the district have opened today.

Service-seekers could comply with health safety measures and avail the services from all 10 local units in Tanahu, according to the District Disaster Management Centre, TanahuN.
